Founder’s Message

Welcome to the Centre for Public Interest (CPI). The idea behind CPI emerged from a simple but important belief: **meaningful change begins when knowledge, responsible citizenship and constructive action come together. Every society faces complex challenges, but addressing them requires more than identifying problems. It requires informed research, open dialogue, community participation and practical solutions. CPI has been established as an independent and non-partisan platform committed to placing the **public interest at the centre of research, policy and action. Our endeavor is to understand issues that affect people and communities, examine them objectively, and contribute ideas and solutions that are practical, inclusive and sustainable. We believe that research should not remain confined to reports and institutions. Knowledge must reach people, inform public discourse and contribute to better decisions. Similarly, public policy becomes more meaningful when it is informed by evidence and grounded in the realities and aspirations of communities. Through research, policy engagement, education, awareness, community development and dialogue, CPI seeks to create a bridge between people, knowledge and institutions. We aim to provide a credible platform where diverse perspectives can be heard, ideas can be examined constructively and solutions can be developed in the larger public interest. Our commitment is guided by the principles of **integrity, inclusivity, independence, objectivity and service to society**. CPI does not seek to represent any political interest or ideology. Its purpose is to encourage informed thinking, responsible participation and constructive engagement on issues that matter to society. We particularly believe in the potential of young people and communities to become active contributors to social development. By creating opportunities for learning, research, dialogue and participation, we hope to nurture a culture where citizens do not merely observe change but become partners in creating it. The journey ahead is both challenging and promising. CPI will continue to listen, learn, research and engage, while remaining committed to its core purpose of advancing knowledge and contributing to the public good. I invite researchers, academics, professionals, civil society organizations, young people and citizens to join us in this endeavor. Together, we can transform informed ideas into meaningful action and contribute to a more inclusive, accountable and empowered society.
